As a seasoned editor, you will lead the daily operations of CNA's digital news desk. Your role is pivotal in shaping coverage decisions, managing live and breaking news, and ensuring our journalism meets high editorial standards.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced editor who can drive coverage decisions, manage live and breaking news, and ensure our journalism is accurate, timely, and of the highest quality.

This role blends traditional newsroom editing skills with strategic thinking to ensure our stories meet journalistic standards and engage audiences across platforms.


Responsibilities:
  • Identify key news developments in Singapore and overseas and cover them appropriately through original reporting, agency copy, or visual material.
  • Oversee live blogging coverage for breaking news and major events, coordinating updates, visuals, and interactive elements to deliver compelling real-time storytelling.
  • Assign articles to journalists on the news desk, providing clear editorial direction and coordinating with visual, multimedia, and social teams to ensure integrated storytelling.
  • Edit stories to meet the highest editorial and language standards, aligning with CNA's house style.
  • Work with other editors to ensure coverage is accurate, contextual, timely, and audience-focused.
  • Monitor article performance on the website and social media, making adjustments to maximize reach and impact.

Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of editorial experience, preferably across multiple news environments (digital, TV, or print).
  • A deep understanding of how content needs to be shaped for different news platforms and social media.
  • A driven self-starter who can help the team achieve key goals.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Singapore and regional news agenda.
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively under deadline pressure.
  • A willingness to work irregular hours, including some weekends and public holidays.
