Job Summary

The News Assistant role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to break into the world of journalism and television news production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support show production teams with tasks such as video editing, graphics creation, and segment production.
  • Assist in researching news stories and gathering information.
  • Transcribe live interviews and write basic scripts for TV news.
  • Build graphics using in-house applications and work with the Graphics team for guidance.
  • Collaborate with video editors to cut videos to match news scripts.
  • Prepare elements such as video clips, lower-thirds, and soundbites for show segments.
  • Efficiently manage the teleprompter for on-air talents during live programming.
  • Contribute to the creation of show segments by sharing, discussing, and/or pitching ideas.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and effectively manage workload independently.
  • Demonstrate collaborative teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in the English language.

  • A keen interest in business news, economics, and financial markets.
  • Prior internship experience in TV news production and/or the financial sector.
  • A strong passion for broadcasting, media, and content production.
