Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development and integration of electrical systems in marine applications. This role involves designing solutions that power performance and meet stringent maritime regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for marine vessels, including power generation, distribution, automation, navigation, and communication.
  • Produce single-line diagrams, wiring layouts, and technical specifications compliant with classification societies (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register).
  • Select and integrate marine-grade electrical components such as switchboards, transformers, propulsion control systems, and fire detection systems.
  • Collaborate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and shipyard teams for system alignment and space optimization.
  • Conduct load analysis, fault studies, and protection coordination for safe and reliable operations.
  • Ensure designs meet IMO, IEC, and other maritime standards, as well as project-specific safety and performance requirements.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases at shipyards or offshore facilities.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in marine electrical design (newbuilds or retrofits).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime electrical codes and classification approvals.
  • Ability to interpret ship general arrangement and system integration drawings.
  • Effective communication and cross-disciplinary coordination skills.

Desirable Add-Ons
  • Experience with hybrid propulsion systems or energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Familiarity with PLC/SCADA and shipboard automation systems.
  • Background in offshore platforms, FPSOs, or naval projects.
