The Operations COO – NRU unit serves as the nostro reconciliation hub for DBS group, handling two primary functions: nostro account reconciliation and Business Management Support (BMS). The latter manages static data, feeds processes, and produces daily Management Information System (MIS) reports.

As an Operations Specialist in this role, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day reconciliations activities, conducting first-level investigations on nostro breaks, and ensuring daily Service Level Agreements are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To possess a thorough understanding of nostro reconciliation processes and principles
  • Perform accurate nostro reconciliations/investigations and guarantee timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Address BAU escalations and nostro reconciliation enquiries, resolving breaks within reasonable timelines independently
  • Engage stakeholders proactively on nostro reconciliation matters and provide support when needed
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to create auto-matching rules for enhanced nostro reconciliation automation
  • Conduct data analytics on internal and external data to derive actionable insights for process improvements and BAU issues resolution
  • Take ownership of the monthly General Ledger Attestation (GLAO) process
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in Banking Operations, preferably in nostro reconciliation or banking operations, with expertise in SmartStream TLM system or other reconciliation systems being highly advantageous
  • Able to collect and analyze data, making recommendations based on findings
  • Capable of independently engaging with Support and Business Units on reconciliation matters, escalating and articulating issues and proposed resolutions
  • Strong written, spoken, and listening skills; effective presentation skills, comfortable presenting to senior-level professionals
