Job Description

Educators of IB English and Literature are sought to provide high-quality lessons, facilitating discussions that connect language, culture, and literature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality IB English and Literature lessons.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions connecting English and Literature to real-world contexts.
  • Assess students using IB standards in both English and Literature.
  • Encourage creativity in writing and appreciation of global perspectives in literature.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentoring.

Non-Teaching Duties:

  • Participate in professional duties as necessary outside of the school day (e.g. field trips, professional development).
  • Supervise duties at break/lunch and/or other unstructured times.
  • Lead/coach an after school CCA.
  • Assist in internal sub coverage according to department needs.
  • Provide any other reasonable duties delegated by the School.
  • Contribute to school continuous improvement by being a member of assigned committee or work group.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, applicants must have:

  • A degree in English, Literature, or Education.
  • Familiarity with the IB curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire curiosity in English and Literature.
  • Excellent communication and classroom leadership skills.
