Cost Management Specialist

The key to project success lies in effective cost management. As a Cost Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that projects stay within budget and meet financial objectives.

Job Description:

Absorb the responsibility of overseeing project costs, ensuring seamless alignment with budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures. Generate timely reports highlighting variances and suggest corrective measures to optimize financial performance.

  • Track and manage project costs by providing insightful dashboards and monthly reports for management.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates for new and ongoing initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain cost control procedures tailored to each project, ensuring accurate cost coding and classification.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of project changes and support risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor spending on vendors, subcontractors, and internal resources; review invoices and claims for compliance with agreements.

As a seasoned professional, you will collaborate closely with project teams to ensure accurate cost data and provide critical documentation for finance and audits.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in cost management or project controls, ideally in energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, contracts, and financial principles.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; experience with cost management software is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach.
