Job Title: Senior Procurement Contract Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Contract Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, procurement, and risk assessment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all project contracts, including subcontractor agreements, supplier contracts, and consortium agreements. They will work closely with the project team to ensure timely delivery of projects, mitigate risks, and optimize opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on contractual issues at the construction site and clarify legal/contractual queries in coordination with the Legal team.
  • Collaborate with project directors, procurement, commercial/finance, engineering, site management, erection, commissioning, and testing teams on contractual matters.
  • Manage all project contracts, including subcontractor agreements, supplier contracts, consortium agreements, and the main client contract from project commencement through the warranty phase.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness, particularly with BoQ-type contracts and FIDIC-based contracts.
  • Develop project execution strategies to optimize risk and opportunity management.
  • Ensure stakeholders fully understand contractual rights, obligations, and interfaces.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring flow-down of main contract terms.
  • Implement procedures to manage variations, changes, claims, and insurance cases.
  • Establish and maintain communication and reporting processes in line with contractual/legal requirements.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, scope changes, or delays; ensure timely notices; and prepare/pursue change orders, variations, cost claims, and EoT (Extension of Time) claims.
  • Coordinate with the project team to mitigate or rebut incoming claims.
  • Support warranty service teams with defect notifications and remedy actions.
Requirements
  • Minimum degree in Engineering (Electrical, Plant, Civil) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction projects, preferably turnkey/EPC projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and hands-on experience with BoQ-type and FIDIC contracts.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex issues and develop solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • High sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
