Job Title: Data Center Facilities Engineer

 

 Job Summary:

The data center facilities engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all data center systems and equipment, including power, cooling, and life safety systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility management, with experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or building services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the daily operations and maintenance of data centre infrastructure to guarantee reliability, safety, and uptime of all critical systems.
  • Carry out routine inspections, preventive, and corrective maintenance works for M&E systems such as UPS, CRAC, generators, DRUPS, and BMS.
  • Monitor and operate building management systems (BMS), power monitoring systems, and other facility-related software to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Organize and manage critical facility areas, including equipment rooms and control centers.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors during maintenance and project works. Ensure work is carried out according to safety, quality, and data center operational standards.
  • Assist in preparing risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work documentation. Ensure compliance with site safety protocols.
  • Support incident reporting and root cause analysis investigations. Maintain proper documentation of maintenance records, service reports, and system logs.
  • Oversee daily operations of the data center facility, including inspections, site walks, vendor coordination, and resolving operational issues promptly.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma from recognized tertiary establishment in Facility Management / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Building Services.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in facilities management, with at least 1 year in data center management.
  • Class 3 driving license will be advantageous.
  • Experience in Data Center Facility Management (DCFM) and CDFOS preferred.
  • FSM / other FM and Safety related certificates advantageous.
  • Good interpersonal soft skills and verbal & written communication.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of maintenance and contracts.
  • Ability to start work immediately advantageous.
