**Job Title:** French Baker - Artisan Bread Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and skilled baker to join our kitchen team. As a French Baker, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of artisan breads, including baguette, croissant, sourdough, ciabatta, focaccia, brioche, and puff pastry.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate baker to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the production of high-quality bread products. You will have the chance to work with different types of ingredients and techniques, and to develop your skills as a baker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for baking, including handling kitchen equipment.
- Bake and prepare bread according to recipes or instructions from head bakers or supervisors.
- Handle and minimize wastage, identifying spoilage of products.
- Maintain quality standards and cleanliness in the bakery.
- Monitor ingredient stock and order placement.
- Communicate with customers and follow up on their orders.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Diploma or Certificate in Pastry & Baking, WSQ Basic Food and Hygiene certificate, or similar preferred.
- At least 5 years' experience as a baker or relevant experience.
- Ability to work on weekends and public holidays.
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback/criticism.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
