Job Description:
The role of a Digital Forensics Engineer is to utilize cutting-edge technology and a multi-disciplinary approach to maximize evidence recovery and analysis, producing fast and actionable leads for investigators.
Key responsibilities include performing research in open-source investigations, cloud sources and services to aid forensic examinations and criminal investigations.
Developing platforms, tools, algorithms, and techniques for collecting, analyzing and interpreting digital evidence from diverse sources is also crucial.
Collaboration with Forensic Examiners and Investigators ensures that tools and techniques are integrated into their workflows and meet their needs.
Evaluation, review, and prototyping of forensic tools and processes is essential to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in digital forensics.
Liaising with vendors to execute and evaluate proof of concept projects is also necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
- Relevant knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas: cloud technologies and architecture (AWS / Azure / GCP), open-source investigation techniques, programming languages (Python), network and log file forensics, cybersecurity best practices, project management using agile methodology, UI/UX principles and best practices
Benefits:
- Two-year contract in the first instance
