Academic Medicine Career

You will support academic medicine efforts by planning and coordinating training programs and events.

  • Plan, manage and implement training programs and events for stakeholders.
  • Set and maintain timelines, monitor progress, and manage deadlines.
  • Manage operational and administrative functions to ensure efficient program delivery.
  • Partner with stakeholders to execute promotional strategies and assist with funding applications.
  • Manage program/event revenues and expenses.
  • Analyze evaluation reports and determine required actions.
  • Ensure effective communication with participants, training partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Scholarly Communication Services:
    • Manage academic resources through collaboration with support staff and key stakeholders.
    • Review journal manuscripts and provide acceptance/rejection recommendations with appropriate justifications.
    • Assist with editorial board database management and identify gaps in speciality areas.
    • Generate publicity ideas to increase journal visibility and manage educational resource subscription contracts.
  • Programme Management:
    • Support administrative frameworks, analyze operational data, and develop process improvement recommendations.
    • Maintain documentation control in line with SOPs and regulatory standards while ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.
  • Administration and Team Development:
    • Support junior staff through regular feedback sessions, mentoring, and identifying development opportunities.
    Job Requirements:
    • Strong proficiency in written and verbal English.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
    • Project management skills and financial acumen.
    • Familiarity with healthcare topics will be an advantage.
