Quality Assurance Specialist

The role of the Quality Assurance Specialist is pivotal in ensuring that quality standards are met and maintained across the supply chain.

This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible for monitoring and implementing quality activities within both engineering and operations.

This role focuses primarily on incoming materials and Supplier Quality, contributing to the development and improvement of quality processes (incoming, in-process and out-going).

  • Quality Control Oversight:
  • Oversight of Quality Standards: Ensure the quality of incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products meet specific standards.
  • Implementation of SOP: Follow Standard Operating Procedure in quality inspection criteria and measurement accuracy
  • Product Release: Approve only products meeting all specifications for release.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Conduct Supplier Audits and Supplier performance appraisal
  • Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
  • Data Interpretation: Analyse test data to identify trends for production or testing improvements.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts in the quality management system.
  • Non-Conformance:
  • Root Cause Analysis: Evaluate non-conforming products and determine appropriate actions.
  • Corrective Actions: Issue RMR to supplier and provide corrective actions
  • Failure Analysis: Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments for corrective actions on quality issues.
  • IQC Reporting:
  • Reporting Requirements: Prepare and issue detailed IQC reports documenting test results and inspections.
  • Timely Reports: Ensure reports are accurate and timely for internal and customer purposes.
  • Work Methods Review:
  • Process Optimization: Regularly review work methods and inspection plans for continuous improvement.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify optimization opportunities in supplier OQA, incoming processes or test plan methods.
