Job Description

The growth of small satellite constellations has driven the deployment of autonomous systems. To manage operations, autonomy becomes essential for these large-scale deployments.

At our institution, a team is seeking a highly motivated researcher with expertise in Autonomous & Intelligent Systems to work on satellite autonomy.

This role involves original and impactful research in various areas, including on-board AI/edge computing, adaptive mission planning, and intelligent collision avoidance.

A key responsibility is to design, implement, and evaluate proposed techniques using hardware- and software-in-the-loop verification and experimentation setups.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Intelligent Systems or a related field.

Strong research background in one or more of the following areas: autonomous systems, on-board AI/edge computing, guidance, navigation and control.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Intelligent Systems or a related field.
  • Strong research background in one or more of the following areas: autonomous systems, on-board AI/edge computing, guidance, navigation and control.
  • Proven track record of high-quality publications in leading journals and conferences.
  • Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink) and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
