Trade Finance Specialist

Job Summary:
The role of Commodity Finance Specialist involves overseeing and monitoring transactional collateral for deals in commodity and structured finance. It entails ensuring that transactions adhere to required credit and collateral thresholds, while assisting in reporting, system enhancements, and risk assessment.
The specialist will support middle office operations, maintain data accuracy in monitoring systems, and liaise with stakeholders to guarantee compliance with risk and credit policies.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Administering and monitoring collateral for Commodity/Structured Finance transactions
- Performing Mark-to-Market (MTM) valuations and managing under-collateralisation by initiating top-ups
- Monitoring Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios and performing margin calls as required
- Maintaining and updating transaction data in ST Connect for exposure and limit tracking
- Escalating potential asset risks or repayment concerns to Relationship and Credit Risk Managers
- Performing price validation and market checks
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5–12 years of experience in Commodity Trade Finance (Middle Office or Front Office)
- Proficiency in English and Chinese (mandatory for communicating with Chinese-speaking clients)
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of UCP600, ISBP745, URC525, Incoterms 2021
- Commodity Finance structures such as Warehouse Financing, Storage Tank Financing, Borrowing Base, and Revolving Credit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, or related field
Desired Skill-set:
- Experience in Structured Trade Finance operations
- Monitoring and reporting on Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios
- Mark-to-Market (MTM) valuations
- Exposure to ST Connect system (or similar systems), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
- Risk awareness and ability to identify potential default indicators
- Capability to perform price checks and collateral assessments
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, or related field
Language Proficiency:
- English
