Job Title: Junior Horticulturist

Job Description:

As a key member of the horticulture team, the Junior Horticulturist will play a pivotal role in maintaining optimal growing conditions and plant health within our state-of-the-art controlled environment agriculture facility. This dynamic position requires an individual with a strong passion for horticulture, who is eager to learn and contribute to the success of our organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Master Grower in all aspects of crop production, including transplanting seedlings, seeding crops, monitoring plant growth, and reporting any signs of pest, disease, nutrient deficiencies, or other issues. They will also assist with the preparation of nutrient solutions and adjusting EC/pH levels as directed by the Master Grower. Additionally, they will perform regular maintenance on hydroponic systems, collect plant measurement data, and assist with harvest operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • No prior experience is required, but an interest in horticulture and a willingness to learn are essential.
  • A basic understanding of plant biology and crop production is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills are necessary for monitoring plant growth and detecting potential issues.
  • The ability to work on one's feet for extended periods and use tablets, smartphones, and computers to input data is crucial.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required to collaborate with colleagues and report progress to the Master Grower.
