  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Executive Chairman and Joint CEO to develop and implement strategies to serve new and existing customers.
  • Operational Management: Work with the Import Shipping Manager to set shipping department KPIs and manage ISO9001 records.
  • Training and Development: Train and improve the quality of work produced by the export shipping team.
  • Customs Compliance: Stay well-versed in import and export operational and customs processes, and ensure all customs permit declarations comply with regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendors, including contractors, hauliers, transporters, and other business-related vendors.
  • Freight Negotiation: Negotiate the best freight rates offered for shipment routes by forwarders and handle vessel bookings.
  • Document Management: Manage and prepare the complete set of shipping documents, ensuring they are legalized.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with new and existing customers to develop and provide feasible logistics solutions.
  • Internal Communications: Handle inquiries, complaints, and disputes from customers and/or shipping lines, and manage shipment-related internal communications.
  • Operations Oversight: Oversee daily operations and transactions in the forwarding area.
  • Quality Assurance: Liaise with the quality team and relevant statutory authorities for inspections.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and manage sales contracts, forecasts, and reports, and analyze all reports.
  • Shipment Planning: Plan and monitor shipment activities.
  • Contract Management: Issue sales contracts and work orders.
  • Extension Negotiation: Negotiate extensions of free time with shipping lines.
  • Verification: Verify bills on warehousing loading charges and production packing costs.
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform ad-hoc duties/tasks as assigned by the company.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant managerial experience in manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software (e.g., Navision).
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership: A dynamic team leader with a positive working attitude, capable of organizing and leading a small team to achieve business excellence.
