Research Scientist Position

We are seeking a distinguished researcher to join our team as a leading expert in Neuroscience.

Job Description: The appointee will be expected to undertake high-quality research activities by sustaining a personal research plan, developing innovative research proposals and funding bids, managing and undertaking research activities, publishing in international peer-reviewed journals, reviewing manuscripts and grant applications when appropriate. Additionally, they will seek competitive grant and collaborative industry funding to develop a sustainable research programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Activities:
    • Undertake high-quality research activities in Neuroscience and Mental Health, with a focus on translational research that aims to bridge the gap between basic science and clinical practice.
    • Pursue innovative research ideas and collaborate with colleagues to leverage expertise and resources.
  • Funding and Grant Management:
    • Develop and manage research funding applications, including grant proposals and reports, to secure external funding for research projects.
    • Manage research budgets, ensure financial compliance, and report on research expenditure.
  • Teaching and Education:
    • Contribute to teaching and educational activities at undergraduate and graduate levels, including designing and delivering courses, supervising students, and assessing student performance.
    • Develop and implement new educational initiatives to enhance student learning outcomes and academic excellence.
  • Leadership and Teamwork:
    • Lead and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve research goals and objectives.
    • Mentor and supervise junior faculty members, research staff, and students to foster their professional growth and development.
  • Communication and Influence:
    • Communicate research findings and achievements through various channels, including publications, presentations, and media outreach.
    • Influence stakeholders, including policymakers, industry partners, and the wider community, to promote the impact of research and its translation into practice.
