The CO+I Core Datacenter Procurement team ensures data center availability through a flexible, efficient, and reliable supply chain, delivering critical environment equipment maintenance, services, and lifecycle management for operational data centers.

We are seeking a skilled Category Manager to lead our data center operations Supply Chain category. This role will involve creating multi-year sourcing strategies, optimizing costs, ensuring sufficient supplies, and driving benchmarking.

Responsibilities

  • You will create and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies for several purchasing opportunities, leveraging market intelligence to develop and influence channel strategies that enable quality execution.
  • While integrating business specifications into RFP processes, you will model efficient supplier management practices, improve evaluation frameworks, and drive corrective actions.
  • You will lead contract and pricing negotiation for one or more purchasing categories, collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure awareness of Service Level Agreement and deliverables.
  • You will identify procurement request issues and collaborate with partners to proactively drive improvements, creating and delivering on contract execution plans that define control processes aligning with business requirements.
  • You will lead pricing and negotiation strategies for several complex purchasing categories, gaining C-suite support, mitigating contract disagreements, and coaching others.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations OR Bachelor's Degree in the same fields AND 6+ years of experience in the same fields OR equivalent experience.
  • CATEGORY MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE in General Contractors, Mechanical & Electrical Equipment, Construction Services, Operations Services.
  • Skilled project management experience plus exceptional communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience with Global and regional planning and development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or related field AND 7+ years of experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations OR Bachelor's Degree in the same fields AND 8+ years of experience in the same fields OR equivalent experience.
  • Strong commercial understanding and experience driving contractual activities on key categories.
  • Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing various project delivery methods - ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing contracting and compensation approaches.
  • Technical ability to write contracts, set up sourcing plans and negotiation strategies, and execute them.
  • Excellent communicator able to interact with diverse groups across organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and ability to facilitate change management.

Travel: Able to travel up to 25%, globally.

Security Screening Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements for this role, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

This position requires a salary range of $130,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
