Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead complex engineering projects and provide advanced technical guidance in the field of static equipment. As a senior mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mentoring junior engineers.

This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining effective engineering processes and procedures to ensure project execution is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with clients and stakeholders to identify and prioritize project requirements, develop project plans, and manage project resources to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions to meet project requirements
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Provide technical expertise to select static equipment during the conceptual design phase
  • Prepare and check engineering deliverables such as specifications, datasheets, RFQs, TBEs for pumps, compressors, gas turbines, engines, and other offshore machinery
  • Review vendor proposals, prepare technical bid clarifications, attend clarification meetings, review and approve vendor data and deliverables
  • Develop standard specifications and procedures related to design, manufacturing, supply, installation, commissioning and operations and/or integrity management for static equipment
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Assist in resolving technical issues during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and designers; review and approve the work of less experienced team members to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical problems encountered during project execution
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree or master's degree in mechanical or related engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience at a top-tier FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor
  • A minimum of 1 FPSO EPCI project experience from engineering through sail-away or delivery
  • Hands-on mechanical or static equipment engineering experience in FPSO or offshore EPCI projects including RFT document preparation, tender process handling (clarifications and technical bid evaluation), vendor coordination and installation/construction/commissioning phase support
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical or static equipment engineering practices, standards, and problem-solving approaches
  • Strong senior leadership, ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent analytical and communication skills
