Wildlife Nutrition Director

A critical position exists in the animal nutrition management field.
- This role will oversee the efficient operation of animal nutrition centers, ensuring the safe and scientifically informed procurement, preparation, and distribution of diets for thousands of animals across multiple zoological parks.
This is a leadership position responsible for managing the daily operations of animal nutrition centers, including ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and distributing animal diets.
The successful candidate will be required to collaborate with veterinarians, curators, and other departments to implement nutrition strategies and food quality control programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and team management capabilities, excellent planning and organizational skills, and technical knowledge of kitchen equipment and facility maintenance relevant to feed preparation operations.
Skillset- Leadership: The ability to lead and develop operational teams in a high-compliance environment.
- Nutrition Management: Proven ability to manage animal feed procurement, inventory systems, and quality control.
- Team Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills with departments such as Veterinary, Animal Care, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and external vendors.
- Kitchen Equipment Maintenance: Familiarity with regulatory standards related to food safety, animal welfare, and operational compliance.
- Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in central kitchen, commissary, wildlife nutrition, zoo or rescue center operations, or animal feed management.
