{"Roles & Responsibilities": "Key Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher at AWWA LTD., you will be responsible for creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Individual Transition Plans (ITPs) to cater to the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

  • Develop and teach meaningful lessons, following the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, to ensure students with different learning needs and abilities can access and engage with the curriculum.
  • Implement evidence-based intervention strategies and positive behavior support to enhance students' behaviors and academic performance.
  • Establish a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and well-being.
  • Collaborate with Teacher Assistants to provide support and guidance in teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with the IEP Team and families to ensure students' overall growth and transitions.
  • Assist in coordinating events and committees to promote student learning and development.
  • Share innovative ideas with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Lead IEP discussions and case conferences to ensure student needs are met.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and development to ensure inclusive and effective teaching practices.
  • Attend meetings, case discussions, home visits, and staff development training to stay updated on best practices.
  • Perform administrative duties and submit required documentation in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Min. GCE 'A' Levels or Polytechnic Diploma with a credit in English at 'O' Levels or Trained Special Education Teacher

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities is an added advantage.
