Job Title: Workplace Safety and Health Officer

Description:

In our organization, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer to join our team. As a WSHO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees and stakeholders within our construction sites.

The primary objective of this position is to implement and maintain an effective WSH Management system that aligns with local regulations and industry best practices. This involves conducting regular team/individual WSHE inspections, analyzing results, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

You will also assist the WSH committee chairman and provide expert advice on WSH matters, including developing and maintaining a robust Risk Management system. Additionally, you will be responsible for organizing and conducting WSHE briefings/training/WSH campaigns for all employees, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.

Incident management is another critical aspect of this role. In the event of incidents or accidents, you will investigate and advise on remedial measures to prevent recurrence, recommending reasonably practicable measures to the occupier of the workplace or other in charge.

To succeed in this challenging role, you should possess at least 10 years of experience as a LTA/MRT WSHO in the construction industry. Familiarity with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 is preferred, along with certifications such as MOM Registered WSH Officer and NEA Environmental Control Officer.

A strong understanding of local regulations and industry standards is essential, as is excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with associates, clients, and government authorities. You should also be a good team player, able to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
