Job Opportunity for Epidemiologist

Epidemiologists play a crucial role in public health by identifying and analyzing the causes and effects of diseases. This position involves conducting surveillance, tracing contacts, investigating outbreaks, and providing data analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily emerging and re-emerging infectious disease surveillance;
  • Perform contact tracing to mitigate and control infectious diseases, including vaccine-preventable infectious diseases and multidrug-resistant organisms detected in the hospital and Outram campus;
  • Investigate disease outbreaks and provide recommendations on containment;
  • Provide epidemiological and statistical expertise for data analysis and reporting;
  • Conduct epidemiological studies to identify incidence, prevalence, causes, or risk factors of human morbidity or mortality;
  • Support statistical analysis for audit and research programs.
Requirements:
  • Master's or PhD in Public Health or Epidemiology;
  • Expertise in one or more statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, STATA, or SPSS) and Microsoft Office;
  • Good publication records in journals are an added advantage.
