Insurance Claims Specialist

As a key player in our organization, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating effective communication with policyholders, intermediaries, investigators, surveyors, adjusters, lawyers, and other stakeholders to manage and process claims efficiently and professionally.
The scope of your responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with policyholders, intermediaries, investigators, surveyors, adjusters, lawyers, and 3rd party claimants to resolve claims expeditiously.
- Providing guidance and training to support staff to ensure seamless claim handling.
- Overseeing and processing claims within agreed service benchmarks or applicable protocols.
- Assessing reserves and providing timely and realistic updates.
- Collaborating with underwriters to advise on issues discovered during claims handling, such as policy wording gaps and risk improvement opportunities.
- Engaging with clients' offices or attending meetings as required.
- Conducting periodic reviews of files as needed.
- Pursuing and following up on recovery claims periodically.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A degree or diploma in insurance or a related field.
- Preference for certification in DGI, HI, or CGI qualifications or relevant insurance equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in claims handling, preferably travel claims.
- A strong understanding of insurance principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, work as a team player, and possess tact, customer focus, and a willingness to learn new skills.
