Job Opportunity: Assistant Engineer

About the Job:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair works on equipment, facilities, and electrical systems.
  • Carry out mechanical preventive maintenance works on packaging equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Promptly attend to breakdowns and recover operational equipment.
  • Analyse and reduce equipment downtime through predictive maintenance.
  • Use CMMS effectively to analyse parts failures.
  • Plan shutdown maintenance and lead a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Liaise with vendors on fabrication works and determine critical spares inventory.
  • Lead and report on commissioning new equipment and document works carried out on equipment.
  • Prepare reports for management presentation and procure parts from service vendors.
  • Identify risks and hazards for jobs and comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with operational teams on failure analysis.
  • Implement continuous improvement projects and coach new technicians technically.

Requirements:

  • Min. Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • General knowledge of AC drives, electrical motors, pneumatic cylinders, and roller/chain conveyors.
  • Able to utilise, debug and modify existing PLC programs.
  • Knowledge of PLC and electrical systems.
  • Min. 3 years' relevant experience in automation systems.
  • Able to perform rotating shifts and standby duties if required.
  • Ability to read and use electrical single-line diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office.
