Formulation Development Specialist

The role of a Formulation Development Specialist is vital in the success of various projects and initiatives. This specialist provides support to Research Scientists in designing, planning, and executing experiments and formulation development for client-based projects.

Key responsibilities include monitoring and documenting ongoing laboratory tests and experiments, reporting results and observations accurately, as well as compiling experimental data and preparing technical documentation, reports, and records.

This role also entails supporting the drafting and maintaining of Standard Operating Procedures related to laboratory activities, maintaining laboratory records, managing chemical and consumable inventory, and ensuring cleanliness and organisation of formulation and testing spaces.

Requirements
  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or Pharmaceutical Science would be an ideal foundation for this role.
  • Prior experience in laboratory work or formulation development is highly valued, but not necessary.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques, good documentation practices, and chemical safety procedures is essential.
  • Key qualities required for this position include being meticulous, organised, proactive, and having strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, as well as possessing good communication and interpersonal skills.
