Clinical Laboratory Supervisor Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising phlebotomy and pre-analytical laboratory processes, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise phlebotomy and pre-analytical laboratory processes
  • Perform and supervise blood collection and dispatch properly labeled specimens to the laboratory in accordance with laboratory protocols and standard universal precautions
  • Navigate the hospital system to perform specimen collection according to tests ordered
  • Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (ie Lab, Nursing, Clinicians, admin) to improve workflow and processes of the section
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science
  • At least 5 years of experience in performing venepuncture for blood specimens' collection and 3 years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Practical knowledge of hospital operations
  • Good general health and no colour blindness
  • Basic computer literacy in proficiency in laboratory information system
