Trade Finance and Commodities Specialist

This role involves assisting experienced trade finance specialists in developing the Singapore portfolio by handling an existing portfolio, prospecting for new clients, conducting market analysis to identify trends and opportunities, proposing initial transaction structures and pricing simulations for client discussions, preparing and participating in pitches, drafting term sheets, writing call memos, writing early birds and executive summary documents for credit applications, joining credit committees when required, proactively keeping up to date on clients' activities and markets developments, supporting management on various presentations, periodic reporting, and projects as needed.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Origination and Portfolio Development: Assist experienced trade finance specialists in handling an existing portfolio and prospecting for new clients.
  • Conduct Due Diligence: Contribute to due diligence on clients and prospects, conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Pitch Preparation: Propose initial transaction structures and pricing simulations for client discussions, prepare and participate in pitches, draft term sheets, write call memos.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Write early birds and executive summary documents for credit applications, join credit committees when required, support management on various presentations, periodic reporting, and projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a curious mind, be proactive with a good learning attitude, possess strong motivation to build a successful career in the banking sector.
  • Previous experience in banking/trade finance/commodity finance is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are required as well as strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • The candidate must be a team player.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (oral and written) and strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required.
