Senior Process Optimization Specialist

Job Description:

As a senior process optimization specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing processes to ensure efficient production and distribution of power and gas products. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to enhance process efficiency and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, with experience in the power or gas industry. They should possess excellent technical skills, including in-depth knowledge of water-steam cycles and hands-on experience in the detailed design of combined cycle power plant projects.

  • Develop key process documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, UFDs, PSFDs, HBDs, WBDs, and related engineering drawings.
  • Prepare equipment specifications, process datasheets, design basis documents, system engineering manuals, and cause & effect diagrams.
  • Conduct process simulations and perform equipment sizing and hydraulic calculations for vessels, exchangers, pumps, and control/relief devices.
  • Participate in and close out actions from P&ID reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, HAC meetings, and vendor technology evaluations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of process engineering experience, particularly in the power or gas industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of water-steam cycles and hands-on experience in the detailed design of combined cycle power plant projects.
  • Proven track record in successfully executing projects on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with process simulation tools such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, GTPro/SteamPro, and process optimization techniques.
  • Well-versed in process safety, environmental compliance, and applicable industry regulations.
