Our organization seeks an accomplished Credit and Syndication Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing new credit leads and assessing the viability of participating in syndicated loans.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will work closely with our merchant banking team to originate syndicated loans from India and maintain liaison with international banks, local banks, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of continuous banking experience, with a minimum of 7 years in the credit area. A strong background in credit analysis is preferred, and they should possess sound knowledge of banking and financial products in the field of credit.
The chosen individual will be responsible for presenting syndication originated proposals to credit committees, monitoring the collection, distribution, and sharing of fees by banks on syndicated deals, and carrying out timely annual reviews and renewals of loans.
They will also recommend appropriate waivers and amendments in the terms of sanction, as sought by borrowers or other banks, and provide support in relation to periodical audits, annual closings, and other similar exercises.
The Credit and Syndication Specialist will contribute to the formulation and implementation of our loan policy, working closely with treasury, accounts, finance, credit administration, and credit risk management teams to get regular updates on reference rates, cost of funds, yields, exposure levels, and sectoral outlook.
Key responsibilities include submitting action taken reports and final closures of observations related to pre-sanction processes made by auditors, efforts to improve return on assets (ROA) of the credit/syndication portfolio, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
To succeed in this role, the selected candidate must be a dynamic personality who is ready to work as a team, provide guidance to others, and possess good trading and analytical skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Graduation or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 20 years of continuous banking experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the credit area
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of banking and financial products in the field of credit
