The role of a medical imaging professional involves conducting diagnostic examinations, such as X-rays or CT scans. Their primary responsibility is to ensure patient safety and accuracy in image capture, while adhering to radiation protection protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing imaging services to patients as required by referring physicians or statutory regulations, and adhering to acceptable standards.
  • Maintaining familiarity with and correct handling of imaging equipment to prevent misuse.
  • Conducting quality assurance tests before equipment use on patients.
  • Operating X-ray or imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
  • Ensuring accurate patient positioning and imaging protocols.
  • Following radiation safety guidelines to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintaining imaging equipment, including calibration, servicing and reporting malfunctions.
  • Collaborating with physicians for accurate diagnosis and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Holding a diploma or degree in Diagnostic Radiography from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in a clinical imaging setting.
  • Knowledge of X-ray safety and radiation protection practices.
  • Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to conduct most x-ray tests.
