Job Description:

The Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor plays a pivotal role in managing the entire purchasing cycle, from sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to placing orders and tracking deliveries.

  • Inventory Management: Maintaining optimal inventory levels, involving stock cycle count, and implementing inventory control procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Leading and supervising a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Warehouse Operations: Ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the warehouse, including storage, handling, and issuing of goods.
  • Data Analysis: Analyzing inventory data and purchasing trends to identify areas for improvement, cost saving and cost optimization.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to purchasing policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Diploma in a relevant field (e.g., supply chain management, logistics).
  • 5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, and/or warehouse operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in inventory and purchasing management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems.
