Job Opportunity

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Refrigeration Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems. This includes residential, commercial and industrial cooling and refrigeration units.

  • Install, inspect and test HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance and service checks on HVAC/R systems.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and make necessary repairs.
  • Recharge refrigeration systems with appropriate refrigerants.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain records of service reports, repairs and parts used.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and junior technicians.
  • Recommend system improvements and energy-saving solutions.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, electricians and project managers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology or a related field.
  • Certifications:
    HVAC/R Technician Certification (e.g. EPA Section 608 for the US, or equivalent local authority certification)
    F-Gas Certification (for Europe)
    Trade license (if required by local jurisdiction)

  • Ability to use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Time management and ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights or in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends or be on-call for emergencies.
