**Job Overview**
The role of the Nurse Manager is crucial in ensuring that patients receive personalized and cost-effective care in accordance with established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care, and practices.
This position involves overseeing a team of nursing staff, ensuring compliance with all nursing standards as stipulated by regulatory bodies, and leading quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care provided.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, conducting, and following up on corrective improvements through quality audits. They will also ensure that written policies and SOPs are available and up-to-date to guide nursing practices.
In addition, they will provide direct care to patients, ensuring compliance with standards, and facilitate smooth transitions of residents from acute to chronic care and back to the community where possible.
They will also ensure an appropriate skill mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services within their purview.
The Nurse Manager will direct and facilitate staff development, skills upgrading, and competency through in-house training, approved online learning, or formal education opportunities.
They will guide orientation/induction programs and preceptorship for new staff members and prepare rosters and daily staff assignments for the ward/departments.
The role also involves working closely with Allied Health professionals on preventive and rehabilitative programs for residents.
Key responsibilities include promoting evidence-based practices and nursing care delivery, demonstrating awareness of current nursing and healthcare practices, monitoring and analyzing trends and changing needs of patients in institutional settings, and carrying out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Qualifications and Experience:
- Locally Trained Registered Nurse with Advanced Diploma in Nursing/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred;
- Foreign Trained Registered Nurse with Degree or Diploma in Nursing with Board Pass (Professional Regulation Council, PRC);
- Registration with Singapore Nursing Board;
- Abilities and Attributes: Demonstrates leadership ability and management skills; Strong sense of integrity; Possesses good inter-personal and supervisory skills.
