Job Title

This is a leadership role within Student Affairs Office that oversees the day-to-day operations of the office.

The jobholder will play a key role in fostering holistic development of students by collaborating with various stakeholders. The role requires strong administrative skills, knowledge of corporate functions and experience in managing teams.

About the Role
  • Lead a team to deliver excellence in core areas including Postgraduate Student Life & Development, Student Support Services, Finance, Procurement and Administration.
  • Postgraduate Student Life & Development: Plan, develop and evaluate postgraduate student life strategies aligned with NTU's Student Life and Lifelong Learning Goals. Collaborate with NTU PACE, Graduate College, Schools, Faculty Advisors to co-create meaningful and relevant student development initiatives.
  • Student Support Services: Administer the Work Study Scheme and its associated system—experiential learning programme for NTU students to take on training assignments within the campus and learn about working life. Provide advisory and operational support to Hall Councils on budgeting, procurement and asset management. Manage the processing of Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) certificate requests and coordinate the annual update of student CCA records.
  • Finance, Procurement and Administration: Plan, track and reconcile the SAO's annual operating budget and endowment funds. Oversee fixed asset management for SAO and student-managed facilities, including tagging, transfer, disposal and annual verification exercises. Provide operational guidance on procurement matters across SAO, ensuring consistent practices and adherence to NTU financial and procurement policies. Supervise financial services such as virements, intra-company billing, accruals and fund centre creation. Manage the annual SAO budget exercise and manpower planning, including mid-to-long term resource forecasting to support strategic decision-making. Oversee administrative processes within the office, including space planning/reconfiguration and staff onboarding/offboarding arrangements.
About You
  • Degree from any discipline with knowledge of corporate functions such as Finance, Procurement, and Facilities. Strong ability in planning and administration.
  • At least 10 years of work experience, with a supervisory role experience. Prior experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Relative familiarity with Finance practices, including some working knowledge of SAP.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills, especially in understanding organizational change and making judicious decisions.
  • Communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with University students from different cultural background.
  • Resourceful, good analytical skills, operationally strong and detail-oriented with good problem-solving capabilities.
