Vice President of Fund Valuation Oversight

Investment Services in Private Markets

Our team is responsible for managing deal structuring, conducting due diligence, and facilitating closing processes. We deliver financial operations for GIC's private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, alongside tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and comprehensive financial reporting.

Finance & Accounting Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding management, valuation oversight, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC's investments.

Key Responsibilities as a Valuation Controller

  • Focus on overseeing valuations of private market funds and co-investments across Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Debt strategies.
  • Identify significant risks and assist in developing valuation risk monitoring frameworks for fund managers' valuation processes.
  • Review fund managers' valuation procedures to ensure compliance with the firm-wide valuation policy.
  • Critically assess methodologies, inputs, and assumptions utilized in valuations provided by fund managers.
  • Collaborate closely with fund managers to ensure the appropriateness of all valuation methodologies, inputs, and assumptions employed.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on all valuation-related matters for funds and co-investments, including financial control, risk management, and external audits.
  • Manage and deliver various project work items.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in private market valuations, preferably at a valuation consulting firm, public accounting firm, or within a private market fund.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to comprehend the factors influencing valuation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and IT skills, with a strong team-oriented approach.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and embracing new challenges in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of responsibilities.
