Job Overview

The Deputy Head of Home plays a vital role in overseeing the operational management of the Home, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of care.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Head of Home to develop and implement effective care plans, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support the Head of Home in monitoring the execution and review of the strategic plan, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Establish and maintain customer service standards for residents, stakeholders, government agencies, and the wider community.
  • Enhance the profile and quality of care within the Home through strategic planning and implementation of innovative initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to internal and external parties, providing detailed insights into the Home's operations and performance.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for staff, focusing on areas such as communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee casework and counseling services for residents, ensuring proper records are maintained and confidentiality is upheld.
  • Plan and implement various programs, including program budgets, to meet the needs of residents and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders to secure funding, regulatory support, volunteerism, outreach works, and integrated interventions.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and disciplinary actions as needed, upholding the Home's policies and procedures.
  • Support PERTAPIS Headquarters and inter-departmental initiatives by planning event deployments and fundraising projects.
  • Act as the deputy head in the absence of the Head of Home, ensuring continuity of care and services.

Requirements:
  • Minimum degree in social work or psychology, or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a senior leadership role.
  • Basic IT knowledge, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
