Job Title:

Government Relations Associate


Role Overview:

This is a role that drives the analysis and assessment of public policy issues and their implications on business interests in assigned markets.

The successful candidate will work closely with Government Relations colleagues to drive stakeholder engagement strategies, manage and develop public policy positions, and execute policy engagements for assigned markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track, monitor, and provide assessment of strategic/policy issues and their implications to commercial interests in assigned markets
  • Develop and provide recommendations to senior management and relevant business units concerning political, policy, and regulatory issues
  • Identify and map key policy stakeholders (including government officials, regulators, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, and industry associations)
  • Develop and drive engagement strategies to reach out and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen the network of partners
  • Formulate and execute advocacy plans to translate policy engagements into tangible commercial outcomes to secure market access and expansion efforts
  • Develop and drive strategic communications plans and partnerships in support of company's overall policy positioning and profiling
Requirements:

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, Law, Economics or related field
  • At least 6-8 years of working experience in government relations or public policy
  • Experience in policy research, development, analysis, and advocacy
  • Strong policy and regulatory network in assigned markets, with a demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact with corporate/political stakeholders to undertake advocacy work
  • Track record of effectively solving complex issues and delivering strong results while maintaining the highest standards
  • Keen interest to translate policy/regulatory engagements into tangible commercial outcomes
