Autonomous System Engineer

Design and Develop Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems for Unmanned Aircraft.
We seek a skilled robotics engineer to develop innovative GNC systems and algorithms for our unmanned aircraft. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge in system modeling, control theory, and experience with MATLAB/Simulink. They should be proficient in C/C++ programming languages and familiar with software development tools like Linux, ROS, and Git.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and modify guidance, navigation, and flight control systems and algorithms for unmanned aircraft systems.
- Develop and modify 6-DOF and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation environments.
- Select, test, evaluate, and integrate new sensors or navigation systems onto drone systems.
- Write, modify, and test firmware and flight code that runs on the flight control computers of drone systems.
- Analyze flight data to verify flight performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Generate documentation on the specifications, design, test procedures, and test results of GNC systems and algorithms.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Support ground and flight test activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good to have 3+ years of industry or other relevant experience in GNC.
- Strong background in system modeling, system identification, parameter estimation, frequency response analysis, classical, and modern control theory.
- Experience in system modeling and control, analysis, and simulation in aircraft applications.
- Experience in developing model-based design and analyses using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge in inertial and other types of sensors for navigation.
- Knowledge in Kalman filtering, digital signal processing, and sensor data fusion.
- Proficient in C/C++ programming language.
- Proficient in software and development tools like Linux, ROS, and Git.
