Simulation Engineer Role

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a skilled Simulation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in CFD simulation for additive processes, including gas flow, thermal and mass transport, and powder dynamics in LPBF, DED, and other 3D printing systems.
  • Develop and customize CFD models to support the optimization of AM processes and new machine designs, focusing on materials modelling and multiscale simulation.
  • Derive or source essential material properties (e.g., thermal conductivity, viscosity, diffusivity) required to enhance CFD accuracy.
  • Support or grow into multi-scale modelling linking atomistic behaviour, microstructure evolution, and macro-scale predictions like distortion and residual stress.

Conduct process parameter sensitivity studies using DOE methodologies. Collaborate with hardware, software and sensor teams to interpret simulation results for process tuning and performance improvement.

Smart Manufacturing Integration

Contribute to digital twin frameworks and closed-loop feedback control. Collaborate with machine-learning teams for predictive analytics.

Research & Innovation

-

Author internal technical reports, white papers or patent proposals on simulation approaches / R&D inventions. Evaluate and develop new 3DP simulation platforms (either commercial or open-sourced).

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering Majors.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in heat transfer and thermodynamics, preferably with a focus on additive manufacturing.
