Concrete Technology Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and resourceful Civil Engineer to fill this challenging position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular testing of concrete raw materials and products to ensure quality and performance.
  • Assist in all measures related to product quality control, ensuring consistency and excellence in every aspect of operations.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure accurate delivery arrangements and achievement of production targets.
  • Educate staff and drivers on the importance of good quality control for concrete, promoting a culture of excellence within the organization.
  • Conduct site surveys and attend coordination meetings for delivery and concreting arrangement, ensuring seamless execution and timely completion of projects.
  • Inspect equipment and propose suitable materials and protection methods for large concrete pours, minimizing risks and maximizing efficiency.
  • Carry out mockup testing and install monitoring devices on site to monitor concrete quality, providing valuable insights and data-driven decisions.
  • Assess concrete conditions (e.g. surface, temperature) and advise on proper finishing and protection for freshly cast concrete, ensuring optimal results and customer satisfaction.
  • Collect and report real-time data to contractors at site; communicate corrective actions when necessary, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues at batching plants and customer sites, maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Material Science / Chemistry or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical knowledge and principles.
  • Entry Level candidates are welcome to apply, offering opportunities for growth and development within the organization.
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of concrete properties, admixture technologies, and applications, showcasing expertise and understanding of industry trends and best practices.
  • Familiarity with SSEN, ACI, ASTM, and BS/EN standards or specifications for Civil Engineering and concrete, ensuring compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently with a positive attitude to deliver within tight deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills, building trust and rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
