The Energy Research Institute is a research-focused organization that aims to tackle complex energy challenges. Our team is comprised of experts in systems-level research for tropical megacities, with a focus on translational research that covers the entire energy value chain.

We are seeking a talented and creative postdoctoral research fellow to join our team and work on a project under the NTU-ExxonMobil Corp Lab. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in employing advanced characterization techniques to probe the structure of catalyst active sites under working conditions and catalytic mechanisms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Publishing research results in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals
  • Participating in the daily running and maintenance of the research lab
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the experimental apparatus
  • Procuring chemicals and consumables
  • Mentoring and co-supervising junior researchers
  • Working closely with industry partners

Requirements include:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, or a relevant field
  • Experience in operating thermal catalytic reactors
  • Extensive knowledge in operando and in situ catalyst characterization techniques
  • A good record of peer-reviewed papers
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork awareness
  • Productive, hard-working, and dedicated to task completion
