Job Title: Animal Training Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our staff as an Animal Training Assistant. As a key member, you will play a vital role in the education and wellness of our canine students.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and be willing to learn and practice positive reinforcement training methods. You will work closely with our experienced trainers and behaviour consultants to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our dog students.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a safe and stimulating environment for our dog students
  • Providing basic training for our dog students using positive reinforcement methods
  • Delivering high-quality care for our dog students, including feeding, exercise, and veterinary care
  • Interacting with and supervising dogs while in playgroup
  • Taking the dogs out for walks and potty breaks
  • Providing front desk and admin support, including pet registrations and customer inquiries

Requirements:

  • Compassionate and enjoy caring for dogs
  • Willing to work shifts, night shifts, weekends, and holidays when required
  • Able to work 40-44 hours a week
  • Advocate positive reward-based training methods and be willing to learn and practise our methods
  • Minimum Diploma in any field from a recognised education institution
  • Higher learning in Psychology, Children's Education or Veterinary Technology is an advantage
  • Prior work experience at Pet Daycare, Boarding Facility, Hospitality, Service Industry or Veterinary Clinic is a plus
  • Professional & mature attitude with a good work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile
  • Reliable & detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with being active and on the feet - this is not a desk job
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Proficient in English with good verbal and written skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
