Job Description

We are seeking a Part-Time School Counsellor to provide emotional support and guidance to our students. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced counsellor to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing individual counselling to pupils being referred;
  • Conducting face-to-face counselling sessions;
  • Consulting with teachers, CCE HODs, and school leaders regarding pupil referrals;
  • Working with families of pupils being counselled; and
  • Reaching out to pupils and parents for rapport building and creating understanding of counselling services.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a pleasant disposition, and the ability to work effectively with children and their families.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling and receiving ongoing clinical supervision;
  • Hold at least a Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling;
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in counselling and guidance work, preferably with young children;
  • Possess good written and spoken English language skills;
  • Be proficient in technology integration and crisis intervention;
  • Have excellent needs analysis and case management skills;
  • Display a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.

A sound understanding of mental health, wellbeing, and classroom management principles is essential for success in this role.
