Job Title: Senior Research Analyst I
">About the Job
This role is crucial to covering a commodity that remains an essential raw material for steel production and energy transformation.
The successful candidate will thrive in meeting daily deadlines and be part of a small but motivated team of reporters.
They will also have opportunities to interface with and contribute to fundamental research within the global raw materials team.
The role will involve tracking supply and demand fundamentals of the seaborne metallurgical coal and coke market, reporting on prices, and developing a deep understanding of pricing drivers.
Additionally, the candidate will report and write breaking market news and in-depth analytical pieces that differentiate our content offering on metallurgical coal and coke.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track supply and demand fundamentals of the seaborne metallurgical coal and coke market.
- Report on metallurgical coal prices on a daily and weekly basis.
- Develop a keen understanding of pricing drivers, including S&D, supply chain, and derivatives markets.
- Report and write breaking market news and in-depth analytical pieces.
- Research and write on big picture issues impacting supply side economics.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of the metallurgical coal and coke markets.
A key qualification for this position is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
Strong contacts within the industry and a proven track record of securing interviews and conducting thorough research are also essential.
You will be a key member of the production team responsible for creating daily publications and engaging with clients and industry partners.
