Animal Rehabilitation Therapist
Job Description
- Administer customized treatment programs that include hands-on therapeutic modalities such as therapeutic exercises, massage, hydrotherapy, and other applicable therapies based on the animal's condition and therapy plan.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of animal health status and physical condition, identifying suitable therapy plans.
- Clearly explain treatment plans, progress, and home-care routines to pet owners.
- Work closely with veterinarians to ensure the best outcome for patients.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date patient records to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in animal rehabilitation therapy to provide the best care possible.
- Ensure all therapy equipment is well-maintained, safe, and clean.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A degree in Human Physiotherapy, Veterinary Nursing, Animal Physiotherapy or Animal Science from a recognized institution.
- Minimum years of working experience, prior work experience in a veterinary clinic, hospital, or similar environment.
- Additonal certifications in animal rehabilitation or related fields, such as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT), Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and/or Canine Hydrotherapy Certification is a plus.
