Plant and Machinery Supervisor Job Description

The primary goal of this role is to oversee the effective management, maintenance, and operational readiness of all construction-related plant and equipment.

This position ensures optimal performance, safety compliance, and cost-effectiveness across all project sites. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily operations and maintenance of heavy machinery, tools, and vehicles.
  • Developing and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
  • Ensuring all equipment meets Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards and asset integrity protocols.
  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment inventory, spare parts, usage, and location.
  • Coordinating logistics for equipment mobilization and demobilization across sites.
  • Planning storage and transportation in alignment with project timelines.
  • Monitoring equipment-related expenditures and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and managing equipment-related budgets.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of technicians and mechanics, including task assignment and training.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting regularly to senior management.
  • Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment on equipment-related expectations, safety standards, and operational updates.
  • Traveling overseas as required to support equipment operations, inspections, or project coordination.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • A minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • A minimum 8 years of experience in plant and machinery management, preferably in construction or precast segments.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery operations, maintenance protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
