At Singtel, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in designing and operating cutting-edge data centres. This is an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and be part of a dynamic team that drives innovation.

**Job Summary:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems for our data centres, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for data centre projects, including electrical systems, plumbing, and sanitary systems
  • Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and procurement to ensure compliance with safety standards and performance requirements
  • Collaborate with the core team to develop and update data centre mechanical designs, from concept to detailed design and commissioning
  • Work with consultants and contractors to identify and resolve issues raised by cross-functional teams
  • Maintain internal design specifications, drawings, and standards, incorporating lessons learned and best practices
  • Liaise with internal business units and external customers to translate technical requirements into executable plans
  • Evaluate the design, construction, and operation of mission-critical facilities and associated MEP components
  • Participate in data centre MEP design reviews and propose innovative solutions to enhance design and meet future needs

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and maintaining mechanical systems for data centres or similar critical facilities
  • Knowledge of large-scale mission-critical facility's electrical infrastructure systems
  • Experience with fast-track design/build projects and multiple significant upgrade projects
  • Fundamental knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles, fire protection, and plumbing and sanitary systems
  • Ability to incorporate renewable energy systems into distribution networks and strong understanding of mechanical codes and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety
