Job Title: Solar Energy Design Lead

The role of the Solar Energy Design Lead is to oversee the design process for solar power projects, from conceptualization to implementation. This involves leading a cross-functional team to ensure the successful execution of solar energy projects.

About the Role:
This position requires expertise in optimizing solar system designs and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and engineering review process for EPCs' master document list submission, including system sizing, layout optimization, solar structural design, and balance of system engineering.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external EPCs to integrate solar PV systems with existing infrastructure and building designs, including system components to suit site conditions and in accordance with solar engineering standards (IEC, Singapore Standards, etc).
  • Handle structural design submissions to HDB for SolarNova projects and ensure they meet all rules and requirements.
  • Design and develop electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and connection diagrams for solar electric systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Complete all electrical calculations in detail related to the project (DC and AC).
  • Prepare and review PVSyst reports and PR calculations.
  • Assist in getting endorsements from Professional Engineers and LEWs for related engineering calculation, analysis documents, and drawings.
  • Provide technical direction or support to Project Managers and Engineers during design review, installation, start-up, testing, system commissioning, or performance monitoring.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Requirements:
This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and engineering solar power systems is necessary, preferably in the construction industry. Direct experience in preparing and managing design submissions to HDB for SolarNova projects is preferred.
