Electrical PD Specialist

The role of an Electrical Partial Discharge (PD) specialist involves conducting on-site testing of high-voltage assets, such as switchgear, transformers, and cables. The specialist uses various PD equipment, including acoustic, thermal, UHF, TEV, and HF sensors, to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Licensed Electrical Worker Site Work
  • Supervise electrical installation work to guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Read and interpret single-line diagrams to inform decision-making.
  • Oversight of low-voltage switchgear, distribution boards, and wiring installation.
  • Perform switching operations on low-voltage systems.
  • Diagnose basic electrical faults to prevent further damage.
  • Submit reports and diagrams to relevant authorities.
Work Conditions
  • 70% field work, 30% remote work.
  • No office attendance is required.
  • Work sites include substations and commercial/industrial facilities.
  • A high-responsibility role with a focus on safety and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • At least one year of experience in PD and/or LEW.
  • Training will be provided for those without prior experience.
  • Able to work independently and outdoors.
  • Comfortable with hands-on physical tasks and flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Bonus Skills
  • Ability to read Python code.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software.
